A Tenco Hydro Scum Concentrator System can reduce the cost of disposing of these undesirable wastes. By reducing excess water, overall volume and for disposal, the cost of dealing with scum can be reduced. Because it is designed as an enclosed system, the Tenco system minimizes odors associated with collected floatable wastes.

Tenco Hydro Scum Concentrator Systems effectively separate, transfer and hold floatable solids collected from primary clarifiers for disposal. Advantages of this type of system include its heavy duty construction, low energy consumption and odor containment.

Scum concentration is accomplished by gravity separation and removal of floatable material by a collector mechanism. Solids are transported to the discharge through by the skimming mechanism over a beach, allowing excess water to return to the concentrator tank. The skimmer mechanism is only operated as needed to maximize concentration. The concentrator tank is available in either carbon or stainless steel. Fiberglass covers and vents are provided to contain and remove odorous air for treatment. Factory assembly provides high quality and easy installation.

Concentrated scum holding tanks are a normal part of a Tenco Hydro system. These tank are available in carbon or stainless steel with a choice of heating systems. Electric, hot water or steam heating systems maintain the concentrated material in liquid form for efficient transfer for disposal.  A mixer is a common feature of the holding tank to promote equal heating throughout the tank. A transfer pump can also be supplied as an option.

From simple manual controls to fully automated systems, controls for the concentrator systems are designed to suit the choices made for the concentrator unit, holding tank, transfer pump and interface with other plant systems.  A variety of instruments for level and temperature can be supplied
